Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 July 2026
ChauffeurMap ("we", "us") is an invite-only professional network for chauffeurs. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the rights you have over it. It applies to the ChauffeurMap mobile app and chauffeurmap.com.
What we collect
- Account and profile: your name, mobile number, WhatsApp number, photo, vehicle details (class, make and model, registration plate) and operating area.
- Gender: if you join as a driver, so that members can filter the live map by Male or Female drivers. Providing it is a condition of going online as a driver, but you may select "Prefer not to say", in which case you are simply left out of that filter. We rely on your consent to process this, and you can withdraw it at any time (see Your rights).
- Vetting documents: uploaded by you, optionally, to earn the Vetted badge - your driving licence and PCO paper licence (drivers), or your driving licence and PHV operator licence (operators).
- Live location: only while you set yourself Online. It is shared solely with approved members, and it is deleted the moment you go Offline. We do not keep a history of your movements.
- Approximate last-known area (drivers): when you go offline we keep your location rounded to roughly a one-mile grid for up to 24 hours. It is used for one thing only: deciding whether you are near enough (within 10 miles) to be alerted about an urgent ASAP job. It is never shown on the map, is not visible to other members, and is deleted automatically after 24 hours.
- Job offers and posts: offers you send or receive, and jobs posted to or answered on the Prebooks board (job type, price, pickup area, notes).
- Billing: subscription status and payment references. Card details are handled by Stripe, Apple or Google (depending on how you subscribe) and never touch our servers.
How we use it
- To verify membership applications (vetting documents).
- To show approved members who is available nearby while online.
- To let members filter available drivers by gender, using the gender you provide with your consent (drivers only).
- To respect your visibility choice: as a driver you can hide yourself from other drivers while staying visible to operators who offer you jobs.
- To deliver job offers between members via WhatsApp.
- To alert nearby drivers about urgent ASAP jobs, using your live location while online or your approximate last-known area (see above) for up to 24 hours after you go offline.
- To let members block one another; a block hides the two members from each other across the map, profiles, offers and the job board.
- To manage subscriptions and the free trial.
- To keep the network safe (audit logs of admin decisions).
We rely on your consent to process your gender for the driver filter. You can withdraw that consent at any time by changing your selection to "Prefer not to say" in the app, or by contacting us, with no effect on the rest of your membership.
Sign-in codes
We email a one-time code only when you request a sign-in code. We send no marketing emails to your sign-in address. We do not share your mobile number with third parties for marketing; your number is visible to other members only when you receive a job offer, and only so they can contact you on WhatsApp.
Who processes your data
- Supabase (database and storage, hosted in London, UK).
- Vercel (website hosting).
- Stripe, Apple and Google (subscription payments, depending on how you subscribe), with RevenueCat managing in-app subscription status.
- Resend (delivery of sign-in codes by email).
- Expo (delivery of push notifications to your device).
- DVLA (if you use the registration-plate lookup, the plate you type is sent to the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service to pre-fill your vehicle details).
- WhatsApp (messaging between members, governed by its own terms).
Retention
Live location: deleted immediately when you go offline. Approximate last-known area: deleted automatically within 24 hours of going offline. Profile, documents and offers: kept while your membership is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal obligations, then deleted. You can request deletion at any time.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you can object to or restrict processing. Contact us at privacy@chauffeurmap.com and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
